Ombré Opulence

The ombré trend has garnered popularity in hair, makeup, and fashion.
It has also made its way to furniture and home decor!
Ombré is the use of graduated colors from light to dark tones. A customer recently came in and was interested in doing ombré drawers on a piece of furniture; we browsed photos on pinterest and loved what we saw! It's such a great way to transform a piece into a unique accent for a room.

These wall plaques are done in Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan as well as the dark and clear soft waxes. The first is Pure White, the second is a mix of Paloma and Emile, and the third is Emile. All are finished with both clear and dark wax, and silver gild wax accents.

From drab to a french look....

This hutch was about to be put up for sale, but a decorator
saw the beauty in the beautiful lines and architecture.

The results were amazing, what was once becoming an eyesore is now
a beautiful French inspired hutch.  The look was achieved by using
and a light application of dark wax.  Followed by accenting areas in gold gilding wax.

What color to pick....Paris Grey or French Linen....

Which color to pick for the desk below at first seemed like a daunting task, but then the ahhaa moment!
Why not do both of two popular colors from Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan

The top is done in Old White, and the bottom done is a
rustic technique using Paris Grey as the base color, French Linen top coat, light sanding
then finished with clear wax and dark wax.

\

This is the original hardware which was gold, it was softened with a coating of silver gilding wax,
some of the gold still peeks through.

and the final touch was a pop of English yellow in the inside of the drawer....don't you just love it!!

Mother of Pearls

Pearls are a great gift for either Mother's Day or Graduation,
but even sweeter when presented on the bodice jewerly stand.
The bodice was originally solid black but with a little
Paris Gray and Old White Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan,
it was tranformed into a lovely piece that would make great decor and holder for other
favorite jewelry pieces.
